52′ – Crime series (6 seasons – 58 episodes – since 2012) – France 2 – Produced by Caroline Lassa (Boxeur 7) and Guillaume de Menthon, in association with Ghislain Achard, Solen Roy-Pagenault, Marc Kressmann and Agathe Robillard
Candice Renoir had put her career on hold for the last ten years. So when she comes back from Singapore to resume work in a port town in the South of France, she feels slightly rusty. But despite the obvious mistrust of her team and her cynical chief’s determination to make her job harder, she tries her best to turn her weaknesses into strengths: she solves the most complex criminal cases with her common sense, using her eye for detail and practical wisdom, all sharpened by her busy daily life. Only Candice can invoke the chemical composition of Ajax window cleaner to foil a murderer, or use the cooking time of steak to guess the hour of a crime. Candice soon proves to be much less naïve than she appears, and nothing – and no one – can resist her!
Each episode revolves around a stand-alone police investigation, unfolding in various spheres. Concurrently, Candice’s family life and romantic adventures come up like threads between episodes. Mixing mystery and comedy, Candice Renoir is a family show with a colorful heroine who fully embraces her femininity.
